A few weeks ago, I paid a visit to the Irvine Fine Arts Center to do some letterpress printing for the first time (thank you to Rachelle Chuang). Letterpress is the pre-digital method of printing originating in the 15th century. Hand-setting the lead type was insanely tedious, but I got some twisted joy out of it. We also got the chance to experiment with a hodgepodge of wooden type. Definitely have a new appreciation for the way things were done not that long ago.
